At the higher elevations of Glacier National Park, well above treeline, the hiker is likely to be startled upon encountering the Alpine Daisy.  This incredibly striking daisy-like wildflower, displaying lavender petals with a yellow center, seems almost out of place on the rocky wind swept high mountain slopes.
